Marina Manager
Bill Young was born in Washington, DC, but has lived in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Arizona, and now North Carolina. After working for a private golf club throughout college and 13 years in management for a wholesale distribution company, Bill wanted a break from the corporate world and took the plunge (so to speak) at Morningstar Marinas. Bill has worked at Kings Point since 2007 and earned his Captains License and Towing Endorsement in 2009.
Bill oversees the day-to-day operations at Kings Point, where it’s not uncommon for the crew to launch and retrieve more than 300 boats in a single week. His staff performs all of the landscaping, painting, minor carpentry and janitorial duties on site, so Bill is able to directly oversee nearly ever detail of the marina’s operations. On his days off Bill is usually at the marina with his wife and two dogs, hitting the water in his Regal 2520 or 25’ Hunter sailboat.
“I love this job because you can make a difference on a daily basis and you can see your attitude as a manager come through in your staff. It’s also my first job where one of my duties is to just talk to people and I love talking to our customers! My goal is to create customers for life, by providing the best possible customer service. ”
